- Renault first entered Formula One in 1977, and then exited the sport in 1985 before returning in 2002.
- Renault became the first team to try running a turbo-charged engine when they entered the sport.
- When Renault was not involved in Formula One as a constructor in the nineties, the company supplied engines to Williams and Benetton who both won World Championships.
- Renault won both World Championships in 2005 and 2006 with Fernando Alonso.
- The team was sold to Genii Captial at the start of 2010. The team is still called Renault but is actually privately owned and run by Gerard Lopez.
- Renault is the equal fifth most successful Grand Prix team of all time, behind Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Lotus.
- Renault has scored a podium in every season it has competed, except three (1977, 1978 & 2002).
- Current F1 drivers Jenson Button, Jarno Trulli, Fernando Alonso and Heikki Kovalainen all drove for Renault at some point in their careers.
- Robert Kubica is joining Renault in 2010 after racing for BMW. It is only the second team he has driven for. Vitaly Petrov is making his F1 debut with the team.
