About

Monza, known as the "Temple of Speed," is the fastest circuit on the F1 calendar. Built in 1922, it is a high-speed Cathedral of racing where cars reach speeds of over 350km/h on the long straights. The track is famous for its history—including the original high-speed banking (still visible today)—and iconic corners like the Curva Grande, Variante del Rettifilo, and the legendary Parabolica (now Curva Alboreto). The atmosphere is defined by the "Tifosi" (Ferrari fans), who turn the track into a sea of red.

Location

The circuit is uniquely located inside the Parco di Monza, one of the largest walled city parks in Europe. The town of Monza is an elegant northern Italian hub featuring the Monza Cathedral and the Royal Villa. To the south lies Milan, Italy’s fashion and financial capital, home to the Duomo and Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper."
Location fact
Monza has hosted more Grands Prix than any other track in F1 history (every year since 1950 except for 1980).

Travel Information

Airlines: Fly into Milan Linate (LIN) for proximity, or Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) for more international options.

Trains: Monza FS is the main station. On race weekend, special "Trenord" shuttle trains often run directly from Milan Central to the smaller Biassono-Lesmo station right at the track entrance.

Roads: The A4 and A7 motorways provide main links to Milan, while the Viale Brianza leads into the park.

Local Transport: From Monza station, the Black Line shuttle bus is the most convenient way to reach the park. Be prepared for significant walking once inside the park as it is vast.

Fan Culture, Viewing & Weather

Fan Culture: This is the home of the Tifosi. Expect a sea of red, giant Ferrari flags, and an intensity unmatched anywhere else. The track invasion after the race is a "bucket-list" moment; fans rush the straight to stand under the iconic circular podium. It is loud, passionate, and deeply emotional.

Best Viewing: Prima Variante (Turn 1) is where the action is. Cars arrive at 220mph and brake to a crawl for the tight chicane; there is almost always drama here on the opening lap. For pure speed, the grandstands at Variante Ascari are breathtaking.

Weather: "September in Lombardy" usually means beautiful, warm Mediterranean sun (24°C–28°C). However, late summer storms can be violent, so keep an eye on the radar for sudden, heavy downpours.
