Felipe Massa and Ferrari led from start to finish to claim a much-needed haul of ten points after their terrible display in Malaysia.

As the lights went out the Brazilian driver got a flying start on his cleaner tarmac while Lewis Hamilton was left fighting for grip on the dirty stuff and as the cars closed for Turn 1 he had no chance to make a move on Felipe. Lewis also had serious pressure from Kimi Raikkonen who tried to find a way round him but the Brit closed the door.

Fernando Alonso wanted past Kimi Raikkonen as soon as possible and launched himself up the inside at Turn 4 to successfully take P3.

So with Felipe Massa leading from start to finish, Lewis Hamilton finished just 2.359secs behind in second place to become the first driver in F1 history to finish on the podium in his first three races and also to share the lead of the Drivers' World Championship with third-placed Kimi Raikkonen and McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso who struggled to finish fifth behind Nick Heidfeld.

And here is how the whole field ended up after the race distance of 308.238 km:
