Codemasters: F1 2009 and F1 2010 Games

Codemasters F1 Game

Finally news breaks of how and when we will be back to playing officially licensed Formula One games.

Codemasters has announced that the multi platform games will be released at different times, with a Sony PSP (Play Station Portable) and Nintendo Wii version arriving in the Autumn of 2009.

Then hopefully early to mid 2010, a full blown version will hit Xbox 360 and Sony Play Station 3 which will make use of the incredible HD graphics and the massive online community both rival consoles have attracted.

It sounds like the early bird released in 2009 won't be as rich in the feature department, as both the PSP and Wii attract either the younger gamer, or the pick up and play gamer meaning a more arcadey experience can be expected.

Well maybe that's not the case. Codemasters' Communications Manager Adrian Lawton sounds more ballsy: "In the meantime we're able to produce a high quality game on Wii and PSP within the timescale. The Wii is the biggest platform in the world now, so why not have a fully featured comprehensive racer for it?"

F1 2009 will use all of this year's cars, teams and circuits - including the Singapore night race, the Valencia Marina Bay track and the new Abu Dhabi race which is to be season finale should construction in real life be completed on time! The game will also include KERS, the reintroduction of slick tyres and the new aerodynamic regulations.
