Stars and Stripes: When F1 cars sing...
Technology we won't be seeing on our road cars...
Red Bull Racing went stateside again during the F1 summer break to do a bit more promotional work ahead of the return of GP racing in America later this year. This time they were on the east coast, more specifically in New York's Liberty Park.
The American market may be a tough one to crack for F1 teams, but Red Bull won't have done their chances any harm by getting their car to play note perfect, The Star-Spangled Banner (that's the national anthem of the United States of America...) Here it is:
But this isn't the first time a F1 car has hit the high notes with a recognisable tune. The once Renault, now Lotus F1 Team regularly get their demo cars playing 'God Save The Queen' at their events. Pretty clever stuff:
Lastly, Renault even belted out Queens 'We are the Champions' many years ago. A tune they haven't quite had the privilege of playing after recent Championship campaigns:
On a personal note - music to my ears isn't 'The Star-Spangled Banner', 'God Save The Queen' or 'We are the Champions'. Ayrton Senna's onboard sound from his pole position lap in Jerez 1990 is simply brilliant:
