Max Verstappen - Where is he from?

Max Verstappen is a fifteen year old born on 30 September 1997 in the Netherlands, and he is the son of former Benetton, Simteck and Stewart Formula One driver Jos and 1995 Andrea Margutti Trophy winner Sophie Kumpen.

Career History

No car racing experience, however he has won many Karting championships including the WSK Master Series and South Garda Winter Cup in 2012, WSK Euroseries in 2011, and was second in the Karting World Cup in both 2010 and 2012.

My Prediction for the Future

In Motor Racing a name can be very helpful; Bruno Senna and Nelson Piquet Junior are testament to that, after making it to Formula One despite a less than dominant junior career.

Max has that advantage, carrying the name of his father 'Jos The Boss', but there is a lot more to him than just a name.

In 2012 alone he won the KF2 Masters Series, the KF2 Winter Cup and finished second in the Karting World Cup to a twenty-one year old Karting veteran.

At the age of fifteen he is still too young to start car racing in 2013 in the major European series, so another year of Karting beckons, but 2014 will be his big year.

He will start in European Formula Renault, as that is now the first step for many young drivers, hopefully making his debut late in 2013 to set up a championship attempt in his first full year.  Then he will follow one of two standard paths, 2015 in GP3, which he will be an instant front runner before World Series by Renault or GP2 in 2016/2017 with Formula One coming as soon as 2018.
