The Official F1 2010 Season Review DVD

Sebastian's Coming of Age DVD

So we know that the F1 2010 DVD will be Sebastian Vettel’s first championship winning year review, but what action is likely in store for us from FOM’s extensive library of footage?

Big crashes from the 2010 season include Kobayashi and Hulkenberg’s massive lap 1 crash in Melbourne, Sebastian Buemi’s suspension exploding in China, Felipe Massa T-boning Liuzzi in Suzuka and of course all of Vitaly Petrov’s ‘would-rather-forget’ accidents towards the end of the season.

But who could blame F1 fans for wanting to take at least one more look at Mark Webber’s spectacular exit from the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

Whilst lapping Heikki Kovalainen’s Lotus, Webber tried to steal just a bit too much slip stream off the cruising Finn with horrific consequences. The Aussie rode the back of the Lotus, performed a back flip and actually landed upside on the track. The car rolled over and then skated into the barriers at high speed. The accident all happened at nearly 200mph. Onboard footage from Mark Webber’s car was actually broadcast at the time, but let’s hope the 2010 F1 Season Review DVD has a new angle, perhaps from Heikki’s point of view.

Another incident we hope to see in the DVD would be a new angle of the crash on the first lap in Abu Dhabi between Michael Schumacher and Tonio Liuzzi. Schumacher was facing the wrong way and in the middle of the track when Liuzzi’s Force India hit him nearly head on. Fortunately the 7 times World Champion wasn’t hurt but he admitted the crash was more than a little bit scary. Onboard angles from either car would go down a storm!

The official F1 website has been uploading race edits all year and they usually feature radio transmissions that do not get broadcast on the TV. Hopefully they will continue this trend in the 2010 F1 review and we’ll get to hear a bit more of the raw emotion F1 drivers express to their team during the heat of the battle.

Apparently this DVD will be coming out on the 6th of December XXX so in plenty of time before Christmas. The question is:

What moments of the 2010 F1 season would you like to see in this year’s DVD?

Other incidents I'd like to see from onboard are

- Nico Rosberg: Crash at Suzuka

- Nico Rosberg (AGAIN!): Crash at Korea

I'm desperate to see that Red Bull of Webber coming across the track and Nico thinking "ohhhhh crappppp i'm not gonna make this..." BOOM

Some onboard footage of Trulli's bingle at Monaco would be cool, as well as some of those spins during qualifying at Spa!

I also think it would be great if the DVD bonus features had something like the first lap of every race from the onboard camera of a midfield runner. That would be pretty cool, especially in some of the wet races!

Yeah that'd be a really easy thing for them to add to be honest, no commentary needed. Just depends whether they can be bothered!

I'd like to see how hard any of the 3 new teams pushed each other off the starts too.

I would like to see all the race montages that they show at the end of each race. Drum and Bass always makes F1 even better!!!

I'd be lying if I thought drum and bass worked with F1 but fair play if you like it! haha

I personally (and a lot on twitter!) think this was a nice way to finish the coverage:

That video still makes me quite sad! A perfect end to almost perfect season!

I love the drum and bass with F1 :P I know this is not actual F1 but I could not think of better music during an F1 montage

Yeah don't get me wrong Sean I liked this vid too when it came out. Bit more commercial than hardcore D&B!!!

haha yeah fair enough, it is not the sort of drum and bass I am used to but I think it is good.

Tbh the edits are really good so any music makes them even awesomer (new word :P)
