Excitement over Codemasters F1 2011: Have you pre-ordered a copy?
F1 2011 is nearly here on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC
There are just 4 days to go until the massively anticipated F1 2011 is available for petrol heads the world over! It feels like only yesterday we were building up to the release of the first F1 game by Codemasters in the form of F1 2010, but the next instalment is just around the corner.
F1 2011 see’s a huge leap forward after last year’s superb effort by Codies. Everything has been improved such as more realistic suspension and tyre modelling, rumble strip dynamics and hugely enhanced AI (that’s the other racers in single player to me and you!)
Codemasters are quick to stress, that F1 2011 is not just an update of the previous year’s Formula 1 game. It has some truly brand new features to whet the appetites of even the most serious gamers.
Safety Car
That’s right – the safety car will be included in F1 2011! It was one of the most asked for features when the development team received feedback on 2010 and it looks like they’ve done a great job implementing it. Codemasters kept the feature secret for months – finally revealing it at the Gamescom convention in Germany.
DRS and KERS have been added too to further complicate the controls. Players will be kept busy for the entire lap as they try to figure out the best time to deploy the numerous gadgets available to them. I cannot wait to learn all the buttons for playing with these features and hope it adds an extra dimension to the game, just as it has in the real life 2011 Formula 1 season.
The Indian Grand Prix circuit is also included meaning you’ll get to the drive the track before Formula 1 even heads to New Delhi in October. This was the case last year with South Korea and Codemasters did a fantastic job in creating a fairly accurate model of the circuit.
