Dusk Til Dawn Video: Life as a McLaren Mercedes Trucker

I just got this great video of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes truckers Hugh Hamblin and Roy Reader taking you through the journey from team base to the race track.

It was shot before the final European race of the season; the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and demonstrates how organised they really are at getting all the cars and parts to the race on time.

You can see how the McLaren race cars are still being tested and developed up to the last moments before the truckers have to load them up and head to the circuit in around 36 hours.

A slight irony of this video is the comment from one of guys featured, Hugh Hamblin who says "this is the last European race so we hope to get a good result." Lewis Hamilton of course binned his McLaren at the first Lesmo bend on the final lap of the race whilst sitting in third position.

Anyway, another great video from Vodafone McLaren Mercedes so take a look.

Ohh really?? I loved this video and was really happy to post it on the site. I'd love to hear more from them about whether anything has ever gone wrong on the drive or if they have any cool stories.

Tell your uncle to get in touch if he wants an interview posted on here or something!

Roy is my brother. In the time he ha been with McLarens he has probably been one of the longest serving people in the Team and most certainly been involved with more F1 champions than anyone else in F1. After the love for his wife Pauline and their children McLarens is his life and nothing is too much trouble if it helps the team.

Oh wow I've only just noticed the surname link across the 3 comments! Yeah he must have seen some things over the years! Would love to hear from him.
