Abu Dhabi FP1: Vet, Ham, But – Plus photos from Pits
Free Practice 1 in Abu Dhabi
Sebastian Vettel has finished the first session in Abu Dhabi much like he did in the one last at Brazil – on top.
His time of 1m 42.760 was enough to keep him ahead of the other 3 championship contenders of Alonso, Webber and Hamilton.
There were no notable incidents during the 90 minute session other than a few cars going wide as they got use to the dusty conditions and experiencing a drying surface early on.
Rubens Barrichello never made it back to pits after his Williams ground to halt along the back straight.
Times in the afternoon session and Saturday’s free practice session will be more useful in revealing which of the top teams look to be taking the fight for Sundays race.
This weekend, we’ve hooked up with Johan Manuel Rivera who will be taking photos all weekend and here was his view from the pit lane before the action started:
