5 reasons to look forward to Barcelona
"Mr. Webber, would you kindly crush Vettel?"
5. Upgrades all around
Coming into Barcelona, many teams have brought substantial upgrades to their cars. McLaren alone have brought a reported 10 upgrades to their car in the ever going quest to catch the untouchable Red Bull’s. They are not the only team bringing upgrades either! Red Bull will not have stopped trying to stay out in front, Ferrari will be fighting to get back in fight, Renault and Mercedes are fighting over fourth and all the mid teams are trying to be the best of the middle. It should be interesting to see any differences.
4. Alonso wants to get in the fight
After letting the championship slip from his hands last year and starting so averagely this year, Fernando Alonso has vowed to start fighting to win this championship which he reckons is still possible. After practice one and two he is still lagging but in race trim the Ferrari is looking good. Keep an eye out for Alonso in this race as he fights for another podium. Hopefully a little battle with Hamilton which would keep me entertained.
3. Barcelona becoming good?
I have never been a fan of Barcelona. It has never provided me with a reason to be a fan since it never gives good races. Normally I would pray for rain or a safety car but this time I am feeling cautiously optimistic. The addition of the DRS and KERS may well make Barcelona a good race. I still do not think it will be up there with Spa and Silverstone but any progress is good progress, right?
2. Lewis Hamilton splitting the bulls?
If free practice 2 is anything to go by then there is a chance that McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton may split the bulls tomorrow as he seems to be the only driver with the pace to get near them. It would be interesting to see a line up of Red Bull, Mclaren, Red Bull, McLaren tomorrow and that is what I predict. It should make for some good racing!
1. Someone beating Vettel
Anyone! Please? At the moment Webber is looking pretty strong around Barcelona especially after finishing first in both free practices. I would love to see Webber beat Vettel this weekend just so that this championship can remain open for longer. Vettel has been dominant so far this season so it is a big ask, but Mr. Webber, would you kindly crush Vettel?

They sure are some reasons to look forward to it! Just have to pray there is a race at the front.
Favourite quote of that article by a long way is:
"the ever going quest to catch the untouchable Red Bull's"
Sounds like an infinite loop to me!

"Reasons to be cheerful part 3" :-)
Yes, I am looking forward to Barcelona much more than in previous years.
From a Championship perspective, it would be great if Vettel is beaten - hopefully on the track rather than by vehicle failure too.
I think these new Pirellis have some extra drama in them
Very good article.

I think it would be great for the championship if Vettel was being beaten on track, THEN had a vehicle failure! From a standings point of view anyway ;)
