Singapore Grand Prix Location

Singapore is bustling island city that is also a fully sovereign state. Only Monaco and the Vatican City share similar city-states characteristics, and this makes Singapore the smallest country in Asia. It is also the second most densely populated nation in the world, simply because over 4 million people live on the island that is only 41km across. The island is right at the southern tip of Malaysia and is also very close to the northern Indonesian island of Sumatra. It switched between British, Malaysian and Indonesian rule until 1965 when it gained full independence. Once Singapore became its own nation it industrialised dramatically and is now one of the leading financial sectors in Asia. The Metropolitan business district of Singapore is on the south of the island and the Grand Prix track runs along the downtown streets that line Marina Bay.
