British Grand Prix Circuit Description

Silverstone is one of the quickest circuits on the calendar and for seventeen years Keke Rosberg's 1982 pole lap was the fastest in F1 history. The track has changed a lot since Rosberg set his record all those years ago but the fast and flowing nature of Silverstone still exists. David Coulthard once commented that it is so far between corners in some places that he has time to relax and read the advertising hoardings. With the exception of Bridge corner the circuit is almost dead flat and is surrounded by earth banks for general admission viewing. The final series of bends was introduced in 1991 in order to slow the cars down and that remains the only sluggish part of the circuit. The fast wide corners make racing in the wet very exciting as drivers search for grip on different parts of tarmac. The brakes are barely used in the first half of the lap and is one of the easiest races for them all year,
