National Pit Straight | Where to sit at Silverstone

Guide to sitting at Silverstone's National Pit Straight

In 2011, the pit straight at Silverstone as we all know it just becomes the 'National' Pit Straight, meaning the cars will be using this part of the race track purely to drive on with the teams stationed on the other side of the circuit. The 'International' Pit Straight is where the new for 2011 pit and paddock area are situated.

During the race you will see the cars screaming past you at incredible speeds before they sweep into Copse corner. This means that sitting on the pit straight is very loud as the cars are always at full throttle. Don't expect to be able to chat to your friends sitting here!

Over taking along the pit straight or into Copse corner isn't as common as it use to be so don't expect side by side action on this part of the track. However, if one driver gets a poor exit out of the last corner Luffield, you may see some action.

In 2011, it is likely that support race pit and paddock will be here meaning you will see GP2, GP3 and Porsche Super Cup action on the other site of the pit wall - but no Formula 1.

Giant TV screens are also above the pits meaning you get to see the action from the rest of the circuit if you haven't already got a personal Kangaroo TV unit.
