Bahrain Grand Prix to use original circuit layout in 2011

It's been confirmed that the 2011 Bahrain Grand Prix will use the original circuit layout after the extended version was dubbed a failure.

Bahrain hosted the first round of the 2010 season and introduced an extra loop making the circuit 6.299 km long.

The drivers said the new loop was bumpy and wrecked the flow of what was already a challenging track.

The GP organizers have played down the swap by saying the change for 2010 was to celebrate 60 years of Formula 1 and show they were committed to making changes to try and improve the show.

The change does not affect 2011 Bahrain Grand Prix tickets as grandstands and viewing areas never existed that far out on the circuit.
