• Virgin Racing is a brand new team competing in Formula One for the first time in 2010.
• The team was founded by John Manor who runs Manor Motorsport. This team used to compete in European Formula Three and Formula Renault.
• Former Manor drivers in Formula Renault include Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen.
• Although Manor Motorsport will run the team, the cars are built by Wirth Research and Design which is headed by Nick Wirth.
• Nick Wirth used to run the Simtek Formula One Team. His company has recent competition experience in the American Le Mans Series.
• The team is named 'Virgin Racing' in deference to its title sponsor.
• The first Virgin Grand Prix car, the VR-01, has been designed entirely using computer fluid dynamics. No wind tunnel models were used during the cars design or construction, which is unique in Formula One.
• Timo Glock joins the team having raced for Toyota in 2008 and 2009. Glock had previously raced for Jordan in F1, Rocketsports in ChampCar, and iSport in GP2.
• Lucas Di Grassi is the team's second driver. He is being promoted from the GP2 championship where he finished second in 2007, and third in 2008 and 2009.
