Timo Glock

Germany Team: Virgin Racing
F1 Debut: 2004 - Canadian Grand Prix

Timo Glock has had a very unusual career path as he started in Formula One with Jordan in 2004, before moving into ChampCar, GP2, and then back into Formula One with Toyota.

The German got his first break in F1 when Giorgio Pantano became involved in a contractual dispute with Eddie Jordan. Glock performed well for Jordan, coming straight from F3, and scored a point in his first race.

Unable to secure another Formula One drive for 2005, Glock moved to the USA where he raced in the ChampCar World Series. Glock soon returned to Europe and entered the GP2 championship which he won in 2007. His performances attracted the attention of Toyota who signed him the following year.

In two seasons with Toyota, Glock earned a reputation as a solid racer, if not the best qualifier. He scored a pair of second places in the 2008 Hungarian and 2009 Singapore Grands Prix. His experience in a variety of different cars will be particularly useful for the new Virgin Racing Team who he joins as lead driver in 2010.
