Lucas Di Grassi

Brazil Team: Virgin Racing
F1 Debut: 2010 - Bahrain Grand Prix

Lucas Di Grassi started racing various open-wheelers in Brazil before spending the next four years in Formula Three championships across Europe. Di Grassi caught the attention of GP2 teams in 2005 when he won the Macau Grand Prix, and finished third in the Formula Three Euroseries behind Lewis Hamilton and Adrian Sutil.

Di Grassi has since taken part in four GP2 championships and has fought for the title in the last three of them. Impressively, he almost won the 2008 championship despite missing six races. Lucas tested with Honda just before the Japanese company withdrew from F1 and was signed as Renault's third driver in 2009. He will be making his Grand Prix debut with Virgin Racing in 2010 but will be hoping that he compares strongly against Timo Glock who beat him to the 2007 GP2 title.
