EnterF1 on the Saturday at the British Grand Prix 2007

Saturday is over - and our faces are twice as red as yesterday! Wind burn hads turned into... sun burn and everyone here at Silverstone has been caught out by the break in the clouds and sunshine this afternoon.

With sun shine comes results seemingly and after a disappointing Friday from Lewis Hamilton, came probably one of his best Saturday's in his racing career.

Lewis started the day with an overall 4th place in free practise 3 in the morning. The fands stilled feared a problem with Lewis.

Then came the qualifying session. Perched at Luffield corner we were able to watch the last 4 corners of the track, taken by each driver in all 3 sessions. First error came from Davidson trying to push too harsd to get into Q3 and slid into the gravel trap at priory corner. Shambles!

Alonso dominated Q1 and Q2 and after trying jump Hamilton out the pit lane and failing, he set the bench mark with a few minutes to go. Hamilton stayed out an extra lap than his team mate and the 2 Ferrari's and Alonso took pole, only to be snatched from Kimi Raikkonen dispite a slight trip through the gravel on the exit of Luffield. It felt like game over for pole. Hamilton started his final lap and the croud drew breath. He was up at sector 2, and the crowd tried waving and blowing him through the last, but incredibly fustrating last corner just to get him the exit he needed.

He croseed the line in pole and Silverstone eurrupted with people in absolute ectasy. Amazing! Britiains hero had done it at home.
