With only 5 races left on the 2014 F1 Calendar, the option to attend a race are starting to look limited with the final races taking place outside Europe. In this weeks post, we compare the prices of tickets, flights and hotel rooms to give you a ballpark costs for attending one of the final races. The prices are correct at time of writing and are based on one person attending a weekend event. You may be surprised to see our findings

Grand Prix Ticket Prices

Japan – 3 day ticket range between £223 and £484 but availability is very limited. Unless of course you’re looking for VIP tickets! These are priced between £2485 and £2722.

Russia – Options are limited and prices for 3 day passes range between £237 and £363 for Grandstands and £2959 and £3254 for Paddock One club packages.

United States – Prices for 3 day passes start from £185 and increase to £419 for Grandstand tickets. There are still some General Admission tickets for Friday to Sunday for £105. Formula One Paddock Club tickets are priced between £2751 and £3006.

Brazil – 3 day Grandstand tickets are available from £131 and increase to £683. VIP areas start at £914 for the Orange Tree Club and Increase to £2897 for the Premium Paddock Club Star Lounge.

Abu Dhabi – 2 day Grandstand passes are priced at £301 and 3 day tickets are available between £337 and £420. Lounge and VIP passes start at £340 and increase to £3077 for the Formula 1 Paddock Club.

Grand Prix Flights

Japan flights to Suzuka from 3rd to 5th October start at £580 for a direct flight

I was unable to find direct flights to Sochi, Russia. 1 Stop flights between 10th October and 12th October start from £370

Direct flights to Austin Texas in United States from 31st October to 2nd November are priced from £850

Direct flights to Sao Paulo from 7th November to 9th November start at £670

Flights to Abu Dhabi from 21st to 23rd November including 1 Stop start from £280

Hotels in Local Town to Grand Prix

I was surprised by the number of hotels available for all the Grand Prix’s. Level of service and star rating can vary widely, so i decided to view 3 star hotels in a decent location rather than the cheapest in poor location. I used booking.com to check prices and availability. Prices are per person, per night.

  • Suzuka, Japan – £250
  • Sochi, Russia – £120
  • Austin Texas, United States – £150
  • Sao Paulo, Brazil – £100
  • Abu Dhabi – £130

Cheapest Grand Prix

So if you do fancy getting away for a Grand Prix before the close of the 2014 season here are the options and approximate cost based on a 2 night stay. Of course 2 nights is not practical for all situations but at least it gives an idea of the costs involved.
