Lucas Auer is an eighteen year old born on 11 September 1994 in St. Johann in Austria and he is the nephew of ten time Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger.
2011: Formula Piolta China, 15th
2011: JK Racing Series Asia Champion
2012: ATS Formula Three Cup, 2nd
2012: New Zealand Toyota Racing Series, 6th
2012: Macau Grand Prix, did not finish
His current career statistics are: 65 starts, nine wins, ten pole positions and fourteen fastest laps.
Relatives of Grand Prix drivers seem to have an advantage while rising through the junior ranks, but they also have so show some talent.
Lucas has done that in the past, but this year he is stepping up to Euroseries Formula Three with the multi race winning Prema Power team, how he does with them will determine his whole future. If all goes well his career will skyrocket, I can see him winning the championship at his first attempt and getting straight into GP2 in 2014.
With the influence, contacts and money of ‘Uncle Gerhard’ behind him, who just happens to be the President of the FIA Single Seat Commission, if he gets the job done on track there will be no stopping him.
