The Team
Renault may be double Constructor Champions, winning in 2005 and 2006, but without Alonso it will interesting to see how the team fares in 2007.
The team has signed rookie driver Heikki Kovalainen in his place and he has certainly found his feet at the team.
The R27 has the pace to be in with a good chance of helping the team achieve greatness.
Renault faces a battle to retain their titles but as testing proved this week it is definitely one of the top constructors this year.
Giancarlo Fisichella
Giancarlo Fisichella is the trusty rear gunner left over from the old guard but is being out shone by his rookie teammate in testing.
Giancarlo has only just proved he can keep up with him on the track this week in Bahrain.
Will Fisi be able to find his pace and overcome his bad form or is he just prepared to follow Heikki in a season he could shine?
Heikki Kovalainen
Heikki Kovalainen proved himself worthy of his race drive status in testing so far. Faster then his teammate, he is proving an excellent choice.
The Finn had demonstrated sufficient skill to secure a test driver role in 2006 and, he was promoted to the team's official third and reserve driver, and an impressive season he had in that role too.
Now released onto the track for a full season Heikki is another with great promise and has the potential for a podium or even a race win.
